|Work Experience with the Scottish Government|
Trinity High school pupils Aaron Clark, Charlotte Smith and Nicole Kirk have been enjoying a fantastic work experience programme delivered by the Scottish Government’s Social Justice Department. This is a pilot scheme and it is hoped this can be rolled out to offer more pupils the chance to pick up some work experience within the Scottish Government with a view to any apprenticeship opportunities.
Karen Armstrong and Shona McTavish of the Scottish Social Justice Department have been guiding the pupils through this programme as they are given the opportunity of making a real contribution. The pupils have already viewed various policy documents and are encouraged to discuss and suggest amendments from a young persons perspective.
The pupils have attended First Ministers Questions at Holyrood and enjoyed meet with the presiding officer and Rutherglens own, Claire Haughey MSP.
The programme began September 4th with the pupils alternating between Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. The pupils will diary their experience over the course of this 10 week programme and the Social Justice department colleagues will continue to work with the students to help develop a narrative that they will deliver to their school on their experience.
