Well done to Trinity’s own Michael Adesuyi, James Hannaway and Conor O’Donnell on successfully completing the ‘Get Into Engineering’ course organised and delivered by our very valued partners Clyde Gateway, Robertson Construction, University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow Kelvin College.
The ‘Get Into Engineering’ course is now in its 5th year and has steadily grown in numbers of participants, activities and, more importantly, value. It has become a mainstay of the S5 curriculum calendar for the lucky few who successfully navigate an application leeting process followed by a competitive interview. Even these early stages are important in introducing the pupils to what they can expect from the world of work in general.
Pupils can then enjoy a whole range of activities from an online ‘Health and Safety’ course prior to picking up invaluable experience when visiting ‘live’ Robertson Construction sites to College/University developed engineering activities such as rocket car design, friction and aerodynamics.
The pupils clearly enjoyed the whole experience and this was reflected in the enthusiastic and engaging presentations delivered by each of them.
Thanks again to Clyde Gateway, Robertson Construction, UWS and Glasgow Kelvin College and we’re already looking forward to next year.
