The start of something big!
As South Lanarkshire’s largest employer we know how important it is to offer you a great opportunity.
If you would like to work with us in our challenging, forward thinking Administration Support services, we have some of the best opportunities in Scotland.
*The opportunity to gain experience in an administrative role within a variety of Council Services.
*The opportunity to gain a recognised SVQ qualification in Business Administration at SCQF Level 6
*The opportunity to receive a comprehensive in-house training package to complement your practical work experience.
We believe in developing people to their full potential, and the prospects of career development within the Council are as excellent as our benefits package.
You need at least:
3 standard grades level 3 or above / 3 National 5 qualifications, including English and Maths, or equivalent, relevant experience. Computing would be advantageous.
A commitment to learning and ambition to succeed.
A commitment to delivering quality customer service.
Confidence and team skills are vital.
These vacancies are restricted to applicants who have recently attended a South Lanarkshire Council School and/or live in the South Lanarkshire Area.
You must either be 16 years of age by 15th March 2021 and must be no older than 19 years of age by 15th March 2021.
Or if you are disabled or care experienced, and aged between 20 to 29 years of age by 15th March 2021, you may be eligible to apply if you meet the rest of the criteria, as South Lanarkshire Council and Skills Development Scotland recognise that disabled people and those who are care experienced can face challenges on their career journey. In care means you are or were formally looked after by a local authority, in the family home (with support from social services or a social worker), or elsewhere, for example, in foster care, residential/secure care, or kinship care (with family friends or relatives).
As part of our approach to good practice and safer recruitment we carry out a number of pre-employment checks for example, Identity, Asylum and Immigration and employment history.
At South Lanarkshire Council we are ambitious about diversity and inclusion and want our organisation to reflect the people of South Lanarkshire. We welcome applications from everyone who meets the criteria. However, as we do not have many disabled, care experienced, or ethnic minority employees, we would particularly welcome applications from these groups.
Closing Date: Friday 4th December 2020 to suit start date of Monday 15th March 2021.
Interviews are scheduled to take place Tuesday 12th – Thursday 14th January 2021 and the start date for successful applicants will be Monday 15th March 2021.
