APPLICATIONS FOR THE STRATHCLYDE UNIVERSITY ENGINEERING ACADEMY

AND THE ACCESS TO ENGINEERING ACADEMY COURSES ARE NOW OPEN!

The Engineering Academy is an alternative route to a degree with Strathclyde University. The traditional route would be for pupils who have achieved 5 or more band A highers including Maths/Physics and/or Chemistry. Entry to the Engineering Academy can be gained at the end of S5 or S6 with 4 Highers at B grade which must include Maths, Physics and/or Chemistry. A Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering would be accepted as one of the other highers.

The Engineering Academy is a blended approach to the degree with a greater emphasis on practical skills. The course is run in collaboration between Strathclyde University and New College Lanarkshire, although allstudents will be formally recognised as Strathclyde University students.

Upon successful completion of the Engineering Academy, students gain direct entry into the 2nd year of the Strathclyde University course. Whilst following this route, students will also be able to take advantage of 12 weeks of work experience each year with the possible option of a sponsorship! This route will continue to graduation.
