Pathways to a Career in Rock & Pop and Music Production

New College Lanarkshire are currently offering school Christmas Leavers an opportunity to apply for their new January Start music and sound production courses at New College Lanarkshire. These tailor made courses will provide pupils with the practical training and theoretical music and sound production knowledge whilst offering the opportunity of using industry-standard hardware and software to develop the skills required for a career within the exhilarating world of the Music Industry.

Successful applicants will have access to fully equipped rehearsal spaces, edit suits, a live performance theatre and opportunities to use their state-of-the-art recording studios working on highly practical projects. All courses will commence on Monday 28th January 2019 and finish on Friday 14th June 2019 where students will be required to attend for three days per week. (Timetables to be finalised).

During the course, students will:

  • Be involved in live music performances (Either performing or recording)
  • Receive bespoke career training leading to further progression and potential employment
  • Build their on-line presence
  • Work with industry specialists and equipment to hone their skills
  • Develop their understanding of Songwriting & Composition
  • Be introduced to Music Sequencing using industry standard software
