Important Update 22/12/20

Further to The First Minister’s Statement on Saturday 19th December, please find below details of how this affects your child from January 7th 2021.

Returning to School in January

Reopening of schools in January 2021 will be phased and at this point aims for all pupils to return to face-to-face learning from the 18th January.

Phase 1: Only our most vulnerable children and the children of keyworkers (see Scottish Government keyworker criteria) can return to school from the 7th January.  Parents must complete the following form by Tuesday 5th January to assist planning for our return.

Phase 2: For the majority of pupils learning will take place online from the 11th January to the 15th January.  Some families have been contacted with an offer of a Chromebook device to enable access to online learning.  Parents can apply for a device for their child by completing the following form by 5th January.  Please note that applications will be prioritised based on a number of criteria outlined by Scottish Government.

Phase 3: After the holiday there will be a further update. At this stage, the expectation is that all pupils will return to school on the 18th January.  This may be subject to change.

Online Learning

During the period of planned restrictions, from 11th to 15th January, our aim is to maintain a continuity of educational experience for your child.  The primary mechanism to deliver teaching and learning whilst at home is our Google Classroom online platform.  Please visit our website for information and guidance on accessing learning from home.

Senior Phase Assessment Arrangements

Higher and Advanced Higher Assessment periods have been postponed until 25th January to 2nd February.  Any updates to assessments for S4, S5 and S6 National 5 will be updated via Google Classrooms.  A further update will be given after the Christmas holidays.

Wellbeing Resources

Looking after your wellbeing this year will have been, and continues to be, challenging for many.  This time of year can also feel difficult for our own reasons.  Making time to look after ourselves is not always easy but if a little space can be found to be kind to ourselves, it can make a big difference to our wellbeing.  Our website has a section which details a number of supports that may be helpful:

With every best wish for a peaceful Christmas and New Year.
