New College Lanarkshire are offering a new Foundation Apprenticeship (Level 6) in Dental Studies. This Level 6 Dental Studies course will provide pupils with the foundation knowledge, employability skills and expertise to enable them to gain employment as a student dental nurse or continue on to the NCL HNC Dental Care course.
This is a very successful course and, of last year’s cohort, 14 school pupils were offered unconditional places on the ever popular HNC Dental Care course starting in August 2017.
School pupils will attend Coatbridge Campus Dental Department for two half days per week (Wednesdays and Fridays 1pm -4pm) gaining ‘hand’s on’ experience via simulated learning within NCL’s state-of-the art clinical teaching rooms. The theory underpins the role of a student dental nurse and consists of specialist modules which are continually assessed.
To apply, pupils require 3 National 5s, one of which should be English (A-C pass).
Pupils are welcome to join this year’s cohort from Wednesday 14 June at 1pm at Coatbridge Campus.
Alternatively, any S5/6 pupil who may be interested in attending this course, please contact Mr McCarthy or email Kate Wilson NCL at firstname.lastname@example.org
