Modern Apprentice Practitioner Clinical Technologist – Medical Equipment Management

What are we looking for?

We are recruiting two Modern Apprentices to train as Practitioner Clinical Technologists with the Medical Physics Team based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus.

What qualifications do I need to apply?

At the time of submitting your application you must already hold a minimum of two Highers (or SCQF equivalent) in Maths and a Science or Technical Subject at grade A to C and Grades A to C in five other subjects at National Five (or SCQF equivalent) one of which must be English. 

Who is this apprenticeship suitable for?

This is an entry level position suitable for someone willing to learn and develop within the role. As well as meeting the educational requirements you will need to be enthusiastic with an enquiring mind,  an aptitude for problem solving and an interest in understanding how electrical components work. No previous experience with electrical equipment or electronics is required but you should have good manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination with excellent attention to detail, good communication and a strong team work ethic.

Modern Apprenticeship Vacancies are only  open only to applicants aged 16 – 24 , or 16 – 29 years for disabled applicants or applicants who are care experienced*, in line with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Youth Employment Plan and workforce projections.

* Care experienced applicants are people who live/have lived with foster parents/kinship carers or who live/have lived in a residential children’s setting/secure unit. Care experienced applicants who meet our entry criteria are guaranteed an interview.
